Horse riding in Kande, Malawi (English version)

My two last weeks in Malawi. As a great, long lasting friend was coming (and being this trip her first african trip) we had to do a safari; and since the previous one was such a good ome, we repited South Luanwga.

We saw lots of animals during the day (mostly lions 2m away from us eating a hippo).

Back in the bay, 3 school days and back to rest. We had our last lunch at Njaya Lodge to enjoy the view of Chikale Beach avoiding Sunday's crazyness.

Not wanting to leave Nkhata Bay, we just went on a day trip (45km south) to Kande Beach. First difference is the beach: white, fine sand, around 200m of the shore there is a small island where you can dive or snorkel, clear waters, shallow shore... Kilometres of beach reminded us of Fuerteventura (as we are both from the Canary Islands). The lodge (Kande Beach) has a different style than any pf those in Nkhata Bay, they are simply different.

We enjoyed the beach for a little bit, the aim of the trip was a different one: going horse riding at Kande Horse. The ranch where the horses are, the lodge to stay and the view, reminds you of any other place but it is not a commun African scenery that you might think of. The ride with the horses could be 1 or 2 hours, in the forest, the beach or both. Our ride: 1h on the beach (but you have to go from the ranch to the beach).on the way children show up to see the horses, adults laugh at those tourist riding a horse and you just ride. After a short ride in the sand you stop. Now is the time to take your clothes off same thing with the saddle. We took the horses to the water, and you start walking in the water until it reaches the top of the animal and you keep going until the guide and the horse can't touch the floor. And for a few seconds you "swim" with the horse.
"Do you want to do it again?"
"Yessssss"?

After the second time you get put of the water. Now we hold the riens. Back to the sand and we make the horses turn in it. Our experience finishes. But then again the description is not accurate nor fair; you have to live it.

One last swim at Kande, last photos and videos. Our smile didn't leave our faces, back to Nkhata Bay, it is time to start saying good bye.

Maua.
